My name is Stephanie and I grew up in the West Linn area. I have two beautiful children and they attend the same Primary school that I did as a child. I love this community and am passionate about bringing families together to enjoy art and culture. I am a huge advocate for arts in our public schools and have volunteered as an art teacher for years. I was previously the artist in residence at Sunset Primary leading a school wide art project that is featured in our garden area, as well as around the school. I have a Master's Degree in Art Education, and have been teaching art to all ages for well over a decade. I have traveled to Spain to study art, language, and culture, have designed and judged student art shows, and have participated in many fundraisers that benefit the arts. I am extremely excited about teaching art to children in a fun, engaging, and close-knit art studio program.
I am dedicated to providing a safe, creative, and original space for children to come and explore art. With small class sizes, your child will get one-on-one attention so that they can get the most out of each class or camp. I teach lessons I have used for years that are educational, unique, and dynamic. I will never use an "art kit" to teach your child standardized and generic art education. They will learn a new skill and technique each week that will be mastered as the term goes on. Studies have shown the unfortunate trend of an increase in anxiety and depression in young students due to the stress and high expectations of traditional academics. My art program is designed to give kids a space to let their creativity calm their mind and inspire the soul. Teaching your child how to create art is my goal, but most importantly that your child has a fun and engaging experience in my Art Studio Program at My Little Monét!
My name is Allison Fox and I have worked as a resident artist in the PNW for over 15 years. Originally from Hood River, I ventured off to Big Sky Country in search of outdoor adventure and a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Montana, Missoula.
After returning to the Portland area, I tried pursuing a career in graphic design. Those first years of sitting behind a computer helped me realize how much I enjoy the lively, messy, and creative energy of sharing art with students. I began as the resident art teacher for Le Monde French Immersion Charter School in Portland and continued on as a resident artist for Arts in Education of the Gorge. Over the years I have enjoyed sharing so many art experiences with students, from giant murals and mosaics to small precious keepsakes. With each project, I love to watch the excitement of the students, their enthusiasm to try new techniques and take on new skills, that moment when they realize their mistakes can turn into something fantastic, and the pride in their accomplishments.
Leo is our beloved studio dog/people greeter! He is hypoallergenic, LOVES kids, and enjoys lounging around while kids create art. He also likes belly rubs and bully sticks :)
